Prospero (Year 4)

Miss Kirk

Welcome to our class page :D

In maths, we have be learning about the place value of a number, how to count backwards through negative numbers and even Roman numerals!

We have also been practicing our 3, 6 and 9 times tables.

Watch us practicing our 6 times tables!

'A Wolf Called Wander'

We have been reading a book called 'A Wolf Called Wander' as a whole class and we are really enjoying it. We have also been developing our fact retrieval skills by using the text to help us answer questions.

We have developed and learnt new skills to strengthen our writing. We have written a setting description and used skills such as personification, similes, metaphors, prepositions and fronted adverbial to make our writing more exciting.

Take a look at our work.

We have been identifying bones, muscles and joints in the human body and discussing their importance. We have then used this knowledge to help us identify the bones of an animal skeleton. Please ask us some questions at home as we would love to share our knowledge!

We have also been exploring plants and the pollination process.

Take a look at our work!

Our current topic of study is 'Predator'! We have explored different predators from all around the world and have looked at food chains; we even created our own! We also watched 'Chester Zoo Live' where we got to see lots of different animals and learnt lots of interesting facts about them too!

We have been looking at fossils and have explained how fossils are formed.

Here are some pictures of us looking at real fossils!

Prospero has PE on a Tuesday afternoon so we come to school in our PE kit!
