We’ve had a fantastic first half term and I have been so proud of how the children have settled back into school life. Please enjoy looking at some photos of your wonderful children and the amazing things they have achieved this half term.

Materials

We teach the children their letter sounds using the Read Write Inc phonics scheme. Each letter sound has a picture to support your child writing and reading the sound. Below are the pictures and how we form the letter, using pre-cursive handwriting. It is important your child remembers to 'whoosh up' at the beginning of the letter to ensure they are forming it correctly.

Maths

We get lots of our ideas from White Rose Maths. There are lots of free resources on their website for you to use at home, including video lessons. In our lessons we incorperate Numberblocks and we focus on a number each week. The children love to find out what our new number is and watch the episode on bbc iplayer.
