Icarus (SB2)
Welcome back!
We hope you all had a wonderful half term holiday and enjoyed spending time with each other. The start of our new term continues to look very different but hopefully we will see you all back in school soon. Until then, each day instructions and tasks will be uploaded on teams for you to complete at home.
We will be sending a link on Microsoft Teams to invite you to a meeting on a Friday (every week) so we can see how you are all doing! You will also receive messages from Marvellous Me and will need to access Purple Mash, TT Rockstars, Lexia and Reading Plus. If you need password reminders or would like to set up Marvellous Me, please contact the school office. If you need password reminders for Purple Mash, TT Rockstars, Lexia or Reading Plus, please contact me on the class email- RSPIcarus@southbankprimary.co.uk
Each day, I will upload your work on to TEAMS so please check it daily to complete your tasks and continue with your learning. You will receive new Literacy, Maths and Creative Curriculum tasks every day. Look out for daily videos to help support you with your learning. Please remember to send pictures to the class email of the learning your child has been doing.
Love from,
Mrs Burgess, Mrs Ellerington, Miss Morris and Mrs Robinson. xx

Spring 2

This half term our topic will be science focused – Burps, Bottoms and Bile. The children will have chance to engage with different science experiments and will develop their knowledge of the digestive system. They will also learn about different types of teeth and how to look after them. The best bits will be learning about healthy eating – lots of opportunities to make some healthy recipes and eat them!!!

Autumn 2 learning
In Literacy, we use the book the Man in the Moon as our focus text and worked hard to complete descriptive work, developed our understanding of past and present tense, wrote questions to find out more information and retold the story in our own words. We also watched The Way Back Home and thought about how we could change the story to make our own version.

In Maths, the children developed their understanding of times tables, place value and worked hard to develop their addition and subtraction skills. They also used Times Tables Rockstars every day on their I-pads.
Our Topic work was all about space. We enjoyed learning about the different planets in our solar system and learnt about some key people who were famous for their work in space.

We also had fun learning about gravity and completed some science work about this – we had to use our measuring skills using a range of equipment to find out what happened to things of different weights with the pull of gravity.
Some of our children also had the extra challenge of learning to ride a bike! Check out our photo gallery below to see how they did!
