Welcome to Year 6

Year 6 had a fantastic time at Peat Rigg. They had to take part in a number activities including: orienteering, abseiling, a low ropes obstacle course, zip wire and the nightline. All the children conquered person fears and developed their ability to work as a team.


In Autumn term, Year 6 will studying World War I and World War II. As part of this topic we will be learning about the history of both world wars.  We will be linking this to our literacy work where we will be producing an informal letter; a diary entry and a non-chronological report. The children made Anderson Shelters.



In Spring term, Year 6 to0pic will be "Pole to Pole" we will be studying the locations, climate , animal life and learning how to survive in both poles.



In Summer term, Year 6 will be studying 'The Americas'. As part of this topic.

Please read with your child at home each night.  They must bring their signed reading record to school each day.

The working day starts at 8.50am; the doors will close promptly at 9.00am and the register will close.

In order for your child to gain the best from their education, a good nights sleep is encouraged.

SATS begin the week of 14.05.18.  It is vital that your child is in school this week.
