Welcome to Year 4

Curriculum

Autumn Term

In the Autumn term, we have been learning all about Ancient Romans, finding out about the Empire and the invasion of Great Britain but especially lots of information on Hadrian's Wall. We have visited Arbeia Fort at the mouth of the Tyne where we explored the remains and practised being archaeologists. We have created our own roman oil lamps, painted roman patterns and created a model of Hadrian's Wall. We have also seen lots of amazing homework including roman shields, helmets and information texts. Along with Year 3 we completed a life skills project on Hadrian's Wall where the children worked on the skills of working together and perseverance.

Spring Term

During the spring term , we will be finding out all about Anglo Saxons and Vikings. We will find out about the changes over time and the effect on everyday people. Along with this, we will be discovering the foods they ate, the clothes they wore and the houses they lived in.
