Welcome to Year 2

The topic for the Autumn Term is OUR PLANET.
We have been learning about earth in space, different climates, extreme weather and physical phenomena such as volcanoes, earthquakes, tornadoes and Hurricane Irma To make this even more exciting we went to Magna Science Adventure Centre in Sheffield. We experimented with air, water, earth and fire.  Then watched a tornado first hand and felt the force of a hurricane. We watched a fire tornado ignite and rise 3 metres in the air. After that we all got wet in water zone.

The topic for the Spring Term is CHINA.

We will follow in the footsteps of Barnaby Bear and visit famous sights and cultural events and learn about agriculture. We will visit a local Chinese restaurant to sample authentic Chinese food and have a go at using chopsticks!

The topic for the Summer Term is KNIGHTS and CASTLES.
Would you like living in medieval times, when you had to defend your land with swords and shields? What would it have been like for a knight in armour? Could you fight dragons? Journey with us to times long past. Who knows, we might end up in a real castle!
