Welcome to Year 2

Curriculum

The topic for the Autumn Term is JOURNEYS.

We will be following in the footsteps of Captain James Cook and his voyages of exploration into the unknown world. As part of this work we will learn about some of the countries he discovered and have a go at making our own maps.

The topic for the Spring Term is

THE STORY OF LONDON.

We will find out about who was responsible for the Great fire of London and the plague. The children will research famous landmarks and look at the differences between modern day London and the city in the past.

The topic for the Summer Term is

HOW WE USED TO LIVE.

Do you know what South Bank was like when your grandparents were children? How life at school has changed? We will have the opportunity to find out more about what life was like and compare it to life today.
