Welcome to Year 1/2

Curriculum


In the Autumn Term our topic was 'Journeys'.

We have found out about famous explorers such as James Cook, Neil Armstrong and Amelia Earhart.  We have created maps and given directions for different journeys.

We have spent a lot of time learning through play.  Here are some pictures of our independent learning outcomes.



The topic for the Spring Term is London.

We will be learning about the Great Fire of London and comparing life then to now.  We will be finding out about famous landmarks in London.  



The topic for the Summer Term is 'How we used to Live.'

Home Learning

Fridays - Homework will be given out on a Friday. Please make sure it is returned to school by Thursday the following week.

Please listen to your child read at least 3 times a week and fill in their reading log.

Class Notices

Mondays - PE. please make sure your child has a labelled PE kit in school.  Please encourage your child to dress independently at home as this will help them in school.

Important Info

Everyday - Please make sure your child brings their book bag and reading book and record everyday. Your child will be able to change their reading book on a morning.
