Welcome to Year 1/2

Curriculum


The topic for the Autumn Term is Journeys.

We will learn about famous explorers such as James Cook, Neil Armstrong and Amelia Earhart.  We will learn to draw maps and to give directions for different journeys.

We are settling in nicely and we are learning through play in our classroom areas.



 

 

 

The topic for the Spring Term is London.

The topic for the Summer Term is 'How we used to Live.'

Home Learning

Fridays - Homework will be given out on a Friday. Please make sure it is returned to school by Thursday the following week.

Please listen to your child read at least 3 times a week and fill in their reading log.

Class Notices

Mondays - PE. please make sure your child has a labelled PE kit in school.  Please encourage your child to dress independently at home as this will help them in school.

Important Info

Everyday - Please make sure your child brings their book bag and reading book and record everyday. Your child will be able to change their reading book on a morning.

We have settled into our new classrooms nicely.  We are taking care of the toys and we are playing nicely together.  This is a picture of us using our reading den to find out about space.
