Support Base 3
Welcome to Support Base 3.
In the autumn term, we have been studying the Ancient Egyptians and the way they lived, including clothing, food and other aspects of their daily life. We have been looking at the processes the Egyptians used in the afterlife and we went on a fantastic trip where we got to see an actual mummy and other artefacts. The children had a great day!
During the Spring term, our topic will be ‘Water’. The children will look at the water cycle learning where water comes from and where the water in our puddles goes. They will be looking at what we use water for while also exploring rivers and seas.
Our summer term topic is the Americas. We will explore the Mayans and their way of life.
PE is every Tuesday so please make sure your child has shorts, t-shirt and plimsolls in school.
Homework is given on a Friday and is due back by the following Friday. Please read with your child every night and sign the reading record book. We also invite you to keep in touch by using the purple home school book, ring in the school or speak to us in person.
Lockton dates for this academic year are 28th February-2nd March 2018 – details to follow!
Lockton is a valuable experience for all the children in Support Base and encourages the development of self-help skills, resilience and independence. The children will have the opportunity to experience a range of environments and activities during this residential, alongside having lots and lots of fun!!!!

Keep a look out on our classroom windows for our Proud Clouds. We award these to children to recognise achievements and let them know how proud we are.
On a Friday children can be awarded a High 5 or Teachers Choice certificate. We also give certificates to children who read at home along with the chance to receive a book for every 100 reads they complete.
