Support Base 2

Autumn Term 1 To make sure we all get to know each other well our first topic is All About Me. During this topic we learn about ourselves, our families and our homes. Our focus story will be Peace at Last.

Autumn Term 2 During this half term we will be focusing on Journeys, we will think about where people go, how they get there and may begin to think about some famous journeys. Our story for this term will be linked to a well known Christmas story.

Spring Term 1 This half term we will be using our imagination to explore the idea of space. We will be thinking about being an astronaut and travelling to space.

Spring Term 2 Our learning this term will focus on the theme of night and day/ light and dark. We will think about owls as the basis for our learning and will research these fantastic animals.

Summer Term 1 This half term our focus will be on food and growth. We will explore where food comes from, grown our own vegetables and will think about how we grow up from a baby into an adult. Summer Term 2 This half term our topic will take us on a journey over the sea. We will think about the coastline and how this has been changed by humans.

Important Information Homework will be given on a Friday to be returned the following week. PE will be on Tuesday, please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. Reading is very important to your child. Please read at home as regularly as you can. We will change your child's reading book as often as you read. We complete children's home school books daily with information about your child's day including their learning and their behaviour. Please ensure your child brings their home school book daily and please feel free to comment in it and let us know what you and your child have been doing.
